About me
** Through the COVID-19 pandemic, I am conducting sessions through a HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing platform. **
I am a California-licensed, Board-certified, Stanford-trained psychiatrist in Palo Alto specializing in combining psychotherapy and medication treatment for individual adults between the ages of 18 and 65. I work to develop deep, trusting and safe alliances with my patients, and collaborate with patients to foster their own ability to reach their full potential in professional, interpersonal, and inner lives.
I have a particular interest in working with individuals for whom cross cultural or immigration-related issues play a role in their suffering. I speak Mandarin Chinese.
I am on the Adjunct Clinical Faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine, and teach medical students and residents in their learning of psychiatry and psychotherapy.

Clinical experience:
– I have experience in specialized clinics treating individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, OCD and PTSD
– I have psychotherapy training in psychodynamic therapy, intensive short term dynamic psychotherapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, prolonged exposure therapy for PTSD, as well as additional training experience in couple’s therapy and group therapy.
– In addition to my private practice, I provide care to individuals with severe mental illnesses or requiring more intensive treatment in Santa Clara County and in residential treatment centers.
